Radiculitis
In many cases, radiculitis develops from processes of intra-tissue edema and venous stasis (blood stagnation). As a rule, this is expressed in local swelling of the skin, increased pain at rest, and some decrease in pain after movemen. In these cases that a leech can provide significant assistance.
Treatment of radiculitis

Leech application zones.
- Locally - on the points of maximum pain in the lumbar region (1, 2, 3, 4).
- Sacral zone: points 7, 8, and 9 and the coccyx area - point 10.
- Buttocks areas - on the painful points 5 and 6.
- Local points 11 and 12 along the sciatic nerve on the affected side.
Peculiarities of the procedures.
The complete absence of any result in the direction of pain reduction after the third procedure most likely indicates the unacceptability of using hirudotherapy in this case (see the beginning of the therapeutic index of the medical guide).
Number of leeches: 5-6 leeches per procedure.
Number and frequency of sessions: the first 3-4 procedures are carried out daily until the pain syndrome decreases. The total course of treatment is 8-10 procedures.
