Chronic non-healing ulcers

Most often, a chronic ulcer occurs as a complication of varicose veins and chronic thrombophlebitis or as a result of a pronounced decrease in the ability of tissues to heal. Leeches are improving microcirculation (blood circulation in the capillaries), relieving swelling and venous stasis in the tissues, and stimulating immune processes, significantly contribute to the cleansing and healing of ulcers.

Leech application zones.

  • Local zone - points around and also in the ulcer itself.
  • Points along the dilated veins are similar to the local points for varicose veins.
  • The hepatic, pubic, and sacral zones are similar to those for varicose veins.

Peculiarities of the procedures.

In the treatment of this pathology, three to four local procedures are alternated with the connection of points of zones 2, 3, and 4. In a trophic ulcer, leeches are placed on the skin away from the edges of the ulcer, it is better to step back 3-4 centimeters. But often the application of leeches occurs directly on the ulcer, although this is quite difficult; pus with lymph from the wound repels the leech. Placing leeches in an ulcer miraculously promotes its healing.

Number of leeches: depending on the size of the ulcer, 3-8 leeches are used per procedure.

Number and frequency of sessions: procedures are carried out depending on the condition of the ulcer. At first, they can be carried out every day, after cleansing the ulcer - every other day, then as needed. Sometimes 3-4 procedures are enough for the process of active healing to begin, while in other cases the course takes 15-20 procedures and requires a whole complex of naturopathic methods of cleansing and stimulating the body.

Combination with other methods of naturopathy: hirudotherapy is a fairly effective method of treating ulcers, but, given that any ulcer is primarily the result of a decrease in metabolic processes in the tissues, it is necessary to apply procedures to activate the liver and cleanse the intestines. Various natural remedies are used locally - herbs, cabbage leaf, aloe, silver water, etc.
