Ear disease
Hirudotherapy can be very useful for ear diseases such as auditory nerve neuritis, Meniere’s disease, labyrinthitis, acute and chronic otitis, and consequences of ear injuries.

Leech attachment zones.
- Parotid zone — points 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
- Posterior cervical zone — mastoid process area — point 6, point 7 at the base of the occipital bone, three fingers width outward from the midline.
Features of the procedures.
Leeches are applied with maximum exposure per session.
Number of leeches: 2-3 attachments per procedure.
Number and frequency of sessions: as a rule, 2-3 courses of 8-10 procedures are required. Procedures for chronic diseases are performed 2 times a week. For diseases such as Meniere’s disease and auditory neuritis, repeated courses of hirudotherapy are required.
